Who wants to buy a digital radio, should necessarily compare and above all listen to samples. This is the test of 18 digital radios, Stiftung Warentest in the July issue of the magazine "test" (Edition 7/2015) has published. Especially small devices have usually a bad sound.

The prices of tested digital radios range from 35 up to 325 euros. The differences in facilities, reception and sound are great. All radios in the test receive digital radio and FM. Seven of them can play also channels broadcasting via the Internet. Then, buyers need to spend at least 100 euros.

The sound of small radios, users should expect miracles, so the tester. Manner in the background, all are good enough however. The Sonororadio landed in third place, but charges are also approximately 275 euro offers the best sound (rated 1.7).

Radio reception problems

Some devices have a hard time with the FM and find many stations if signal is weak. Also they play back then often very noisy channel. Of the 18 radio stations here only two "very good" cut off with two more "good". Digital receiving only two devices show poor performance, the cheapest and one of the most expensive in the test.

There are differences in the handling: five radio waive station buttons for the favorite channels, six have no alarm. Seven devices can be controlled with a remote control, many Internet radio stations via app.
